In recent years there has been an increase in the number of people with special needs. In the last demographic census carried out in Brazil, in 2010, it was estimated that around 45 million people declared to have some type of special need or disability. From Law No. 12,711, of August 29, 2012, which provides for the reservation of places for people “self-declared black, brown and indigenous and for people with disabilities” (BRASIL, 2012). From this, there was the entry of people with disabilities or special educational needs in federal educational institutes. Thus, the guiding question of this master's dissertation arises from how the practice of teachers working on campuses I and II of CEFET-MG who receive students with some educational need in their classrooms is constituted. In this context, this research aimed to analyze the practice of teachers working on campuses I and II of CEFET-MG regarding the inclusion of students with special educational needs or people with disabilities. To achieve this goal, a qualitative research methodology was used, descriptive through bibliographic research and case study. Consisting of five stages: in the first stage, the knowledge that teachers working on campuses I and II of CEFET-MG had about special educational needs or people with disabilities and AT was verified. In the second stage, the special needs and/or comorbidities raised by the teachers were mapped. In the third stage, the use of AT by teachers was verified. In the fourth stage, it was evidenced about the practices of teachers regarding both the general principles and actions and the presence of students with EN in their classrooms. In the last step, the fifth, it was verified the implementation of actions related to existing policies for the specialized care of students with EN by teachers. The research, therefore, allowed us to identify and analyze the inclusion process in campuses I and II of CEFET-MG. The results found allowed us to conclude that the process of inclusion in CEFET-MG on campuses I and II is not fully covered. There is a lack of knowledge among teachers about the inclusion process, about existing policies related to the topic, about AT and about the existence of a program at CEFET-MG that is inclusive. Finally, it was shown that there is still a lot to be done with regard to inclusive education on campuses I and II of CEFET-MG.
