SUMMARY:

Educational digital games, also known as serious games, have proved to be an attractive and motivating pedagogical resource for use in the classroom. Although educational games have their own characteristics aimed at entertainment, they should not overlap with the educational character in the same way that the educational function cannot do without a ludic/entertainment character, otherwise it ceases to be a game and becomes any pedagogical activity. This research project was born from the need to recognize the pedagogical aspects present in educational digital games in order to identify if there is any pedagogical concept that meets the objectives and expected results in the learning process. Starting from the assumption that the fundamental aspect of educational digital games is that they present learning objectives and practices in the mechanical elements of the game, serving a purpose of pedagogical resource in addition to fun and entertainment. The objective was to identify the learning theories, the elements of the mechanics of the digital games used in the Federal Center of Technological Education of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG) from the elaboration of a model that integrated the mechanics of learning, the mechanics and the elements of educational digital games and their interrelationships with the selected learning theories, namely: Behaviorist, Cognitivist, Constructivist, Humanist. Sociocultural and Connectivism.
