Affirmative Educational Actions: a Discursive Analysis on Sexual and Gender Diversity in EPT
Education, sexual and gender diversity, citizenship, affirmative action.
The Constitution of the Federative Republico of Brazil 1988 presents as fundamental principles the citizenship and the dignity of the human person. However, contrary to these principles, we observe situations of inequality and subjects deprived of the full enjoyment of their rights on a daily basis. In this way, we seek to understand and problematize how the concepts of sexual orientation, gender and citizenship are materialized in the documents and discourses of/about Professional and Technological Education in Brazil. We carried out bibliographic research on reports published by the media concerning the subject we were interested in. In addition, we tracked affirmative actions undertaken by the National Education Network, in Minas Gerais, in the period from 2018 to 2021. As a method of analysis, we used the French Discourse Analysis and Foucauldian tools. At the end of the analysis, we concluded that affirmative educational actions represent a powerful resistance resource for recognizing, legitimizing and promoting reflections and actions in favor of the realization of equal rights in relation to sexual and gender diversity. In addition, they can enable others to look at Education and diversity.
