SUMMARY:

This study aims to identify and analyze educational software that promote accessibility, favoring the teaching and learning processes of the deaf. This dissertation is part of the Master's Course in Technological Education at CEFET-MG, in research line IV, which has Educational Practices and Educational Technologies as its thematic axis. Considering the qualitative nature of the research, we opted for the methodological use of bibliographical analysis, in which we identified and analyzed the educational software developed for the deaf. The universe of this research are academic productions published in scientific journals, books and websites of the Brazilian State. The theoretical conception that guides this study is based on the Vygotskian perspective, with contributions from the psychology of learning and development and the foundations of defectology. The results show that most of the educational software available for the deaf is aimed at translating Portuguese into Libras. There were also applications for smartphones, games, multilingual digital dictionaries and text, audio and video translators that use sign language to teach Libras. Regarding CEFET-MG, we identified that the institution does not use educational software in the teaching and learning processes of deaf students, using the interpreter to bridge the communication between teachers and students in the classroom, using only the translation from spoken language to sign language. We also verified that in the last three years only three deaf students enrolled in the institution, which we consider a small number in relation to the total number of students enrolled annually. The analysis of the results shows that the use of educational software has become increasingly common in school education, contributing to make pedagogical practices more inclusive and favoring, in particular, the teaching and learning processes of the deaf. We found that technologies, when placed with pedagogical objectives, favor didactic purposes, as information when associated with visual resources provides a strong visual appeal. Thus, we believe that educational software can more effectively favor the education of the deaf.
