This dissertation should be perceived in the context of the vigorous debate within the field of Social Work regarding its history in Minas Gerais, as part of a broader project to rethink the role of the social worker in the economic and social formation of the state of Minas Gerais. It also examines the institutionalization of the School in Belo Horizonte and its various forms of engagement with social movements, the state, and capital. The general objective is to understand how the process of institutionalizing the School's Social Work education occurred in Minas Gerais, considering its multidimensionality, which includes understanding its trajectory and life cycle between the 1940s and 1950s. The specific objectives are to map the regulations that governed the institutionalization of the School of
Social Work education in Minas Gerais, identify information and data regarding the educational formation of Social Work in Minas Gerais from the mapped sources, and analyze the main institutionalization activities that influenced the educational formation of Social Work in Minas Gerais.
