SUMMARY:

In the Covid-19 pandemic, several changes have been necessary in the world of work, especially in terms of the ways and spaces in which it is carried out. Due to the need for social isolation, in order to minimize the proliferation of the virus and the consequent mass contamination of the population, remote work carried out at home, mediated by digital technologies - the so-called home office – was implemented in various professional areas. In this way, the public and external space, in which productive and salaried work takes place, has migrated to the private space, in which unpaid work is carried out and dedicated to reproducing the conditions of existence, domestic work. Two distinct environments, in which the sexual division of labor and social relations of sex/gender are developed, have been transformed into one. Specifically with regard to teaching work in Basic Education, despite its already rumoured precariousness, devaluation and feminization, the implementation of Emergency Remote Teaching (ERE) has resulted in an overload for the female teacher-mother-wife-housewife, with the implementation of a distance educational practice, mediated by digital technologies that are unusual in public schools, as well as the unforeseen intertwining of her public and domestic work spaces. To unveil how this moment was experienced by the teachers, its impacts, challenges and difficulties, strategies of resistance and coping, in the face of multiple and ace of multiple and simultaneous work, the unusual transformation of their public and private spaces into one, and the compulsory need to use Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs) in the educational process. The aim is to understand and rethink teacher training and work in the face of unforeseen situations, the compulsory and unplanned use of digital technologies as tools for teaching and learning and the sexual division of teachers' domestic work. The theoretical-empirical research took a qualitative approach, and the subjects were primary school teachers working in Cycles I and II of the Belo Horizonte Municipal Public Education Network, who were interviewed in person using a semi-structured script. Afterwards, excerpts from the interviewees' speeches were selected and analyzed in the light of theories on Teacher Training and Work and the Sexual Division of Labor. Based on the accounts of these experiences, it emerged that the municipality did not provide teachers with ideal conditions for distance teaching, such as financial subsidies for the acquisition of technological devices, as well as adequate training in the use of digital media. The impact on the teachers' health was also felt strongly, with bouts of stress and anxiety, due to the pressures experienced

during this period, which had a major impact on the teachers' educational practice during the pandemic.
