This dissertation is within the scope of research relating to the history of intellectuals who were protagonists in the constitution and institution of industrial education in Brazil in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. More specifically, the research is about the actions and ideas of Ítalo Bologna about the industrial education, in a context in which Brazil was experiencing a process of industrialization, urban growth and the consequent massification of professional education. Ítalo Bologna circulated his ideas through speeches in seminars, books and reports, served in important positions in important institutions, such as SESP, CFESP, IDORT, CBAI and SENAI, and has works related to work psychology, teacher training, educational guidance and professional education. The objective of the research was to understand Bologna's ideas, as well as to situate his performance and occupation of public positions, in civil entities, in commissions, and in movements and their networks of contacts. To this end, the research was anchored in intellectual notions, mainly based on studies carried out by Jean-François Sirinelli. Ítalo Bologna seems to have never been the focus of any specific research on his involvement in Professional Education, however, other engineer-educators involved with these issues at the time have already been studied, and in these studies there are references to the same, so these references allow us to identify a network and places of sociability, a repertoire of themes and problems that involved him as well as developing this research. The research therefore used bibliographical sources and primary sources. The primary sources were texts written and published by Bologna at different times, but always dealing with issues within the time frame defined in the research. The results obtained were the clarification of questions such as, what was Ítalo Bologna's performance in Industrial Education, what positions he held, what were the issues addressed regarding industrial education in the defined period, and what were the purposes thought of by him, thus contributing to the construction and enrichment of the history of intellectuals and Professional Education in Brazil.
