RESUMO:

The energy building consumption around the world is almost 50% of all energy demand. In Brazil this number is over 50% and half of it belongs to the residential sector. In addition, there is forecast to increase energy demand for the next years, a continuous national housing deficit, an increase of HVAC systems consumption to relieve discomfort by heat and urban heat islands process. This research focus in verify constructive strategies applied to existing residential building, may improve their energy efficiency. For that, this research will use computational simulation method to investigate energy performance of a object study, with and without strategies application.
