RESUMO:

Seeking to build buildings that are increasingly safe, sustainable and user-friendly, the project development process must be strategically focused on the performance of their systems, that is, in the behavior of the building and its systems under conditions of use, operation and maintenance. The Performance Standard (NBR 15.575) establishes minimum performance requirements that meet users' needs, regardless of the constituent materials and construction system adopted. However, the methods provided in the Performance Standard for assessing acoustic performance in flooring systems should be performed in the field, under the conditions under which the end user will receive, completed construction, and their results will be restricted only to the evaluated system, making decisions difficult for alternative situations still in the conception phase. In addition, preliminary studies indicate that part of the builders base the assessment of the acoustic performance of the floor system of their buildings on previous reports, obtained from field methods performed in other buildings that adopted the same construction process for the floor system. Considering that the constant technological development promotes the creation of new solutions for materials and construction processes, performance simulations for construction systems become important tools for quality assurance even in the project design phase. Applied to acoustic performance, these simulations can optimize project design processes, reducing costs at other stages of building life, such as construction, use and operation. This report proposes the use of computer simulation for the analysis of acoustic performance in floor systems of residential buildings and evaluation of compliance with the performance requirements established by NBR 15.575. It is expected to obtain methods of simulating the acoustic performance of building floors that provide similar results to the field tests recommended by NBR 15.575, allowing that different building systems or changes in the environment can be evaluated during the design phase of buildings, ensuring acoustic quality for the flooring system and cost reduction for the project
