COLLABORATIVE PRODUCTION OF DIGITAL TEXTS: A high school study in light of the concept of multiliteracies
collaboration; multiliteracies; text; Google Docs.
The introduction of digital technologies in education can be satisfactory for both teachers and students once there is a plan prepared by the teacher specifying why they are used in that subject and highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of their use. According to Moreira (2013), “some textbooks’ orientations foresee the use of new digital technologies in the classroom as a support tool for the teacher, especially thinking of collaborative teaching spaces such as Google Docs” (MOREIRA, 2013, p.14). Thus, the objective of this study is to propose that high school senior year students write a collaborative text online using the Google Docs tool. I intend to identify which functions of the tool are most used by students in order to enable interaction between teams. I also expect to understand the collaborative writing process using Google Docs as an intermediary in the interaction between these students. To start the discussion around the results, I will use the multiliteracies theory (COPE; KALANTZIS, 2012), and in the analysis of the data I plan to use the textual-interactive approach (RUIZ, 2010).
