SUMMARY:

The present thesis is a study, through the eyes of Literary and Cultural Criticism, of an expression of peripheral culture (the dance developed by Cia. Fusion de Danças Urbanas, from Belo Horizonte-MG, Brazil). The analysis takes into account how these bodies propose reflection and apotent aesthetic experience regarding memory, identity and culture, through mounting, translating and performing the shows “Quando efé” (2014) and “Pai contra mãe” (2016), the latter inspired by a short-story written by Machado de Assis.
