This study is a research proposal on how the authorship and the author function are manifested in graphic-editorial projects of didactic works of Portuguese as a foreign language Portas Abertas – português para imigrantes (2021); Samba!: curso de língua portuguesa para estrangeiros (2020); Brasil Intercultural – Língua e Cultura Brasileira – Ciclo Básico (2018); Novo Avenida Brasil 1: curso básico de português para estrangeiro (2008) e Muito Prazer – Fale o português do Brasil (2008). To do so, a brief will be presented about the development of the notion of authorship in our culture, as well as the author's power in current didactic literature. Subsequently, it aims to analyze the graphic-editorial project of the selected works with emphasis on paratextual elements.
