SUMMARY:

The present project aims to verify if the hegemonic phenomenon - characterized by privileging a certain economic, social, political and cultural group (man; white; heterosexual; christian; generally, of elite social class) - prevailed or not in the literature of textbooks of Portuguese language of the 2021 PNLD, which has BNCC as a guiding document. Thus, from a decolonial perspective, it is sought to observe in these Portuguese language textbooks if other social groups, usually formed by minorities, have the same space as the hegemonic group. Therefore, as an exploratory research, it is necessary to investigate the publishers, and their respective Portuguese-language books, which are present in the 2018 and 2021 PNLDs; identify the Brazilian writers present in these Portuguese-language textbooks; analyze how these writers appear in Portugueselanguage textbooks; compare the proportion of Brazilian writers present in each PNLD. The decolonial approach, in this context, not only makes fundamental the search for an understanding of how aspects of the past still affect what is important to teach and learn through Portuguese-language textbooks - especially when it comes to literature studies - but also raises the question of whether there is a space for questioning this pattern of hegemonic power. In this sense, the decolonial perspective becomes quite relevant in the analysis of the Portuguese Language textbooks of the PNLD 2021, as it can indicate whether there is still an imposition of hegemonic power, even when space is given to the diversity (in favor of subaltern groups or the market?).
