Formative student processes under the gaze of Critical Literacy and Social Representations
Social Representations. Critical Literacy. Training Processes. Redação do Enem.
In this research, we aim to examine the formative processes of high school students by investigating their social representations, the impact of training for critical literacies, and their influences on the construction of a future vision and the definition of educational and professional goals, with a view to fostering a more conscious, participative, and aligned formation with the students' needs and aspirations. We intend to examine the students' perceptions, conceptions, and interpretations of their own education, considering the role of critical literacy in analyzing and reflecting on the discourses and practices present in the school context. Our starting point focuses on the Enem exam, particularly the essay, a fundamental aspect for success in the evaluation. To accomplish this endeavor, we will anchor ourselves in the views of Critical Literacy (Street, 2014), Social Representations (Moscovici, 2007), and the Dialogical Theories of Discourse by Bakhtin (Volóchinov, 2017[1929]). As a methodological approach, two movements will be undertaken: semi-structured interviews and focus groups with students from the Permanent Text Production Workshop (Teaching Project of IFMG - Sabará Campus). To analyze the data obtained, we will use Content Analysis (Bardin, 2015[1977]), Corpus Linguistics (Sardinha, 2004), and the WordSmithTools software, which provides the most recurrent lexicons and expressions. We start from the hypothesis that as students engage in activities focused on critical literacy, their Social Representations change. As a result, the research aims to contribute to a more conscious, participative, and aligned formation with students' needs and aspirations through the development of pedagogical practices centered on critical literacy.
