Early Childhood Education; Children 's Literature; Indigenous Literature; PNLD Literário 2022.
This research aims to investigate the representation of indigenous people and the cultures of these native peoples in the children's literature books selected by the PNLD 2022 for Early Childhood Education. It is part of line III - Language, Teaching, Learning and Technology and intersects with line I - Literature, Culture and Technology, of POSLING - CEFET-MG's Postgraduate Program in Language Studies. This research is based on the following question: how are indigenous people represented in the books approved by the PNLD 2022 for early childhood education? The specific objectives include identifying indigenous themes and cultural elements in the books, analyzing the representations of these elements and evaluating the reading practices proposed in the digital teacher's manuals. The aim is to identify and discuss stereotypes that may be present in these narratives, contributing to a more accurate and contextualized understanding of indigenous cultural diversity. The theoretical basis is based on the studies of: Ariès and Rousseau on childhood; Lajolo and Zilberman on children's literature; Graúna and Thiél on indigenous literature. The methodology includes bibliographical and documentary research, with an analysis of the program's notice and the reviews available on its website, as well as an analysis of the selected works. The results of the research could contribute to reflecting on the selection criteria for indigenous-themed books in the 2022 Literary PNLD, identifying strong points and those that could be improved. This research could also provide input for future educational policies aimed at a more authentic representation of Brazilian cultural diversity in children's literature.
