I wanted to learn the language of trees: the ecological image in the poetry of Manoel de Barros
Manoel de Barros. Nature. Language. Poetry
This thesis proposes an investigation into the poetry of Manoel de Barros and its relationship with the knowledge of living beings and the language of objects, based on a dialogue between literary studies, philosophy, biology, and other fields of knowledge. The work is based on the hypothesis that Barros anticipates the debates on the epistemological turn, the Anthropocene, and the community. The investigation considered the presence of animals, plants and objects in Barros' poetry, with the aim of investigating how these realms of singularities are perceived by the poet's gaze. with a counterpoint poetry and a twisting of language, Manoel de Barros seeks to approach the elements of nature, the living realms, and abandoned beings.
