This research investigates the contribution of the Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG), through its Graduate Program in Language Studies (POSLING), to the construction and consolidation of the publishing field in Brazil. The study is characterized as a bibliometric analysis of the program’s academic output (theses and dissertations) produced between 2011 and 2023, totaling 396 works. The methodology adopts a mixed approach, beginning with a quantitative analysis of metadata and advancing to a qualitative analysis using the IRaMuTeQ software, applying techniques such as Descending Hierarchical Classification, Correspondence Factor Analysis, similarity analysis, and Labbe’s distance applied to the abstracts of the works. Data were collected through the CAPES Open Data project and organized in spreadsheets, with automated processing via Python code. The quantitative analysis reveals significant growth in theses production from 2018 onward (R² = 0.694), while dissertations show irregular fluctuations (R² = 0.011). Research Line III (Language, Teaching, Learning, and Technology) stands out as the most productive, followed by Research Line IV (Publishing, Language, and Technology), which, despite a later start, has shown remarkable growth since 2020. The qualitative analysis identifies four main thematic classes: publishing market and book industry (18%), artistic creation and contemporary literary studies (36%), discourse analysis and semiotics (26%), and literacy and educational technology (20%). The preliminary results show that POSLING has contributed to the publishing field through the training of specialized researchers, the production of interdisciplinary knowledge that integrates language, technology, and publishing, and the development of research addressing both the technical and economic aspects of the book production chain as well as issues of authorship, circulation, and reception. The research demonstrates the program’s maturation and its relevance in the academic and professional consolidation of the publishing field in Brazil, providing evidence of strengthening in this strategic area.
