THE READER-PLAYER IN UNTIL DAWN: READING AS PART OF THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS
reader-player; Until Dawn; non-linear narratives; decision.
The objective of this work is to define which reading characteristics are important to the player in their decision-making process in the interactive and non-linear narrative game Until Dawn (Supermassive Games, 2015). Based on this, it proposes to define the reader-player category. Furthermore, it aims to describe the structure of non-linear narratives and the decision-making process. The methodology of the study consists of reading the necessary bibliography for the systematization of the concepts presented, and analyzing the non-linear structure of the game studied and the series of Until Dawn gameplay videos made by Rato Borrachudo on YouTube. This study hopes to define the term reader-player, as well as demonstrate how reading is an important tool in the decision-making process in a game like Until Dawn.
