SUMMARY:

Literature and journalism are fields of study that, at first glance, appear to be only loosely connected. This experiment seeks to bring these two worlds closer together through the theoretical framework of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. Thus, this dissertation is a study that establishes a dialogue among literature, philosophy, and journalism. In addition to exploring several Deleuzian-Guattarian concepts, we attempt to develop a conceptual notion, “noticiaria”, a form of “news” that exceeds the conventional journalistic plane within a fake-news-saturated society by maintaining itself within a fictionalized ethics on the plane of art, where it has always belonged. This concept emerges as a war machine, seeking paths toward new forms of novelty that function both as alternatives and as critical inquiries into the recognition of a transcendent and capitalist world. Along this trajectory, poems and chronicles by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, as well as articles published in the newspaper Estado de Minas, are mapped through the thematic lens of mining in Minas Gerais and the disasters of Bento Rodrigues and Brumadinho. These texts constitute territories in which thought, literature, and journalism position themselves as weapons of resistance, insofar as they criticize the troubling coexistence of communities living near capitalist mining operations and the equally troubling consequences that arise from them. This dissertation also engages with established territories within literary theory and journalism studies. As an experiment, it neither seeks a definitive conclusion nor aims to arrive at a final answer. Rather, it proposes a process of deterritorialization. Within this new territory, we seek productive encounters, creation, and thought.
