Relating Management Innovation and the Decision-Making Processes: a case study in a luxury brazilian hotel

The objective of this project is to analyze how the relationship between decision-making processes and the adoption of managerial innovations in a Brazilian luxury hotel takes place. The object of study is a resort located in the city of Itacaré / BA. The literature review addresses work on innovation, managerial innovation, innovation in hospitality, decision-making and innovation decision-making. The theoretical framework presents the main concepts, classifications and theoretical perspectives of innovation, as well as the main works on the relationship between the adoption of innovation and the decision-making process. The methodology will follow the qualitative approach and the method will be the case study. The analysis will be based on the triangulation of the data collected mainly through documentary research and semi-structured interviews. The relationship between managerial innovation and the decision-making process will be the basis for the proposed analysis model. In this model, the innovation adoption process will be analyzed, considering the influencing factors and the barriers that impact the adoption or rejection decisions. Complementing the model, the predominant theoretical perspectives for adopting innovation in the researched company will be evaluated.
