The cement industry is fundamental for the development of nations and goes beyond cement production. Despite its relatively simple production process, its main competitive aspects permeate the possession of mineral deposits close to relevant consumer markets, in addition to the need for large-scale production and intense capital investment. Even in favorable conditions, the need for business structuring directly impacts the results of companies in the segment. In this way, sales and operations planning, characterized as a continuous process, generally reviewed monthly, integrated with the main stakeholders, which involves planning, reviewing and evaluating plans that maximize profit, can be identified as an important support for the decision-making process. In this sense, the aim is to understand how the sales and operations planning process influences the decision-making process for the supply of raw materials in the cement industry. This research will seek to contribute to scientific advancement as it will address the sales and operations planning process in an unexplored context. For this, a qualitative research will be carried out, using the case study method and having content analysis as the methodological technique used to seek to understand the data obtained.
