The Influence of Sales and Operations Planning in the Decision-Making Process of Inputs Supply in the Cement Industry

The cement industry is characterized by the need for large-scale production and the intense investment of capital. This work aimed to understand how the sales and operations planning process influences the decision-making process for supplying inputs in the cement industry. To this end, qualitative research of a descriptive nature was carried out, using the case study method and using content analysis as the methodological technique used to understand the data obtained. Finally, several points were identified that confirm the influence of sales and operations planning on the decision-making process. Among them, visibility of the supply chain, followed by the identification of supply needs, trends in variations in the sales plan and prior analysis of the risks involved.
