RESUMO:

The study and preparation of new copper compounds have great relevance since copper compounds have a wide application area, such as magnetic, pharmacological, catalytic, among other characteristics of technological interest. Copper compounds have great structural versatility capable of forming mono and multinuclear complexes with different geometries and properties. In this work, two copper(II) coordination polymers containing isophthalate (ipa) and N,N-donor ligands, 1.10-phenanthroline (phen) and 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) were obtained: {[Cu(phen)(ipa)(H2O)]‧dmf}n and {[Cu(bpy)(ipa)]‧2H2O}n. The first compound is an unprecedented complex, although a similar one had already been related to the literature and the second is an already known compound. Regarding these polymers, it is important to highlight that both were obtained through simpler synthetic routes than those reported in the literature. As a second product of the hydrothermal reaction for preparation of {[Cu(bpy)(ipa)]‧2H2O}n, it was obtained a copper(I) tetranuclear cluster, [Cu42-Cl)4(bpy)2], which was produced with less reaction time than that related in the literature. In addition, a new ternary copper(II) complex with the ligands phen and ipa was prepared: [Cu(phen)(ipa)(H2O)2]ClO4. The already known complex (Hampy)2[CuCl4], where ampy = 2-aminopyridine, was also obtained by a different synthetic route. All complexes were characterized by elementary analysis, atomic absorption, vibrational spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction by monocrystal.
