SUMMARY:

The professional education practiced at the National Service for Industrial Learning/SENAI in recent decades has been marked by a conception of training for work that tends to adapt to the logic of flexibility and the dynamism of companies, constantly seeking competitive efficiency. Aiming to respond to the demands of the increasingly changing, complex and selective labor market, professional education points to possibilities for the construction of innovative practices more consistent with technological advances along with new forms of production and the training of this professional requires more complex skills. The idea of competences was introduced in Brazil around the 1980s and 1990s, with the intention of responding to the new demands of the labor market and supporting ideas on how the training of contemporary workers should be. In 1999, to comply with Law no. 9,394/96 and the demands of curriculum guidelines, SENAI/DN created the National Strategic Project known as “Professional Certification Based on Competencies”. This initiative came from dialogues between SENAI and the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Inter-American Center for the Development of Knowledge and Professional Training (Cinterfor). This project started with a pilot experience in 2002 in the Regional Departments BA, DF, MG, PR, PE, RJ, RS, SC and SP and in 2013, in one of its revisions, its name was changed to “SENAI Methodology for Professional Education” as a way of personalizing the “Competence-Based Training” proposal. This project proposes a research on these changes, bringing reflections on the fundamentals and principles that guide the teaching practice and the new strategies developed and adopted in the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI), in order to take a deeper ownership of the different teaching practices. teaching the SENAI Methodology of Professional Education (MSEP). The importance of this study is due to the need to know the current teaching model adopted by SENAI and its main changes since its inception, seeking to understand its phases, processes, stages and their interrelationships. This project will be carried out through documentary and bibliographic research. The main sources will be documents from the National Department of SENAI (1995, 2013, 20015, 2019); that guide the institutionalization of the MSEP and especially the MSEP itself. The educational product of this project will be an E-book or Educational Guide aimed at SENAI instructors, presenting the MSEP in its conception and operation. The educational product aims to meet the needs of instructors in terms of appropriate methodologies for professional education”.
