The discipline of programming logic is of paramount importance for technical courses in the area of informatics, however, many students face initial difficulties in understanding it, resulting in frustration and difficulties in solving specific computational problems. With the aim of promoting student learning and overcoming these obstacles, teachers have increasingly resorted to the use of digital educational games as auxiliary resources. In this context, this project aims to research the application of digital games as facilitating tools in the teaching-learning process in technical courses in informatics. The thesis seeks to evaluate the impact of using a digital educational game, CodeCombat, as a means of facilitating the learning of fundamental concepts of programming logic in a study workshop aimed at students of the 1st year of the technical course in Systems Development at Proz Professional Education, Divinópolis unit. Through data collection and evaluation techniques, it is intended to investigate the effectiveness of using digital educational games in improving student learning, thus providing valuable insights to improve the use of this methodological approach in future educational practices.
