EVALUATION OF LEARNING IN PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: BETWEEN KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICES
Learning assessment. Knowledge and educational practices. Professional and technological education. Disapproval.
Assessment, a crucial element in the school context, is often misunderstood and reduced to mere tests of knowledge. Even in higher education, like myself, face challenges in developing comprehensive teacher assessments. In the context of Professional and Technological Education (EPT), this task is expanded due to the need for a comprehensive education of the student. This qualitative research, focused on teachers of Professional and Technical Education of Medium Level - EPTNM of CEFET-MG, sought to understand how educators form their evaluative knowledge and associated practices. Empirical data were collected through a questionnaire sent to teachers working in Divinópolis and Araxá, places that have a lower and higher failure rate, respectively, according to research by Silvas (2018). The results showed a gap in the preparation of teachers for evaluations, even among those with a teaching degree, as well as a possible parallel between the contexts of teachers in the chosen locus, in order to possibly explain the brief difference between the failure rates of students in both as units. As an educational product, a Podcast was produced based on the research results, in order to inform and support other EFA educators, addressing both theoretical and practical aspects of assessment. This work is significant for Brazilian education, filling a gap in research on the topic of assessment in EPT
