Discomfort in Learning: A Study on the Health Status of Professional and Technical Professional Students at the High School Leve

The World Health Organization defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This definition considers the individual in their physical, psychological, and social dimensions, forming an inseparable unit. Thus, when any of these dimensions is not well, it leads to illness or discomfort. The majority of students in Technical and Vocational Education at the high school level are in their youth. An important task for young people is the development of personal, sexual, and professional identity. This process is influenced by their living environments, especially school, friends, and media. Health issues during this phase of life are often related to difficulties with family, school, peer groups, sexual activity, early pregnancy, alcohol, tobacco, drug use and abuse, and other substances; mental and behavioral health. In dental clinical practice, when conducting interviews with students in the Integrated Technical Education at CEFET-MG campus where I work, it is possible to identify physical problems that are directly related to stress, anxiety, and depression. Health is a central issue in the process of a young student's development, as illness affects their disposition, attention, and socialization, which are essential factors for learning. This empirical and quantitative research aims to diagnose the state of health among students in Integrated Technical and Vocational Education concerning depression, anxiety, and stress. The data collection instrument to be used is the publicly available Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS 21) to define, measure, and understand these three disorders. The purpose of the research is to contribute to the discussion and development of institutional educational interventions for illness prevention and health promotion in schools. Based on the research findings, an educational product will be created for teachers, providing g
