SUMMARY:

This research aims to identify and analyze the Characterization and Analysis of the Technical Courses of Translation/Interpretation of Libras-Portuguese, with emphasis on medium-level vocational education, in the modality of Professional and Technological Education (EPT), in Brazil. Regarding the proposed objectives, the study will search to verify information on the technical training of Translation/Interpretation of Libras-Portuguese at medium-level in Brazil, consulting legal documents and institutional platforms. A study of the curricular structures of the technical courses of Translation/Interpretation of Libras-Portuguese in the EPT modality will be carried out, based on the political-pedagogical projects of the educational institutions. The information related to the workload of the disciplines will be characterized and analyzed, especially those of professional practice (Supervised Internship) and the total workload of the course, assessing its balance between theory and practice. The legal documents will be analyzed to identify the correlations of programmatic contents in the Translation / Interpretation of Libras / Portuguese courses in the EPT modality. The process of planning and implementing the educational product will be valued, resulting in a documentary accessible in a repository and widely disseminated, which can be used as a teaching resource. The research approach adopted will be qualitative-quantitative, with exploratory research. The bibliographic and documentary research method will be used, concurrent the analysis of existing data, analyzing norms, guidelines, legislation, and legal opinions, as well as the official technical reports of the National Curricular Guidelines for Professional and Technological Education at medium-level and the National Catalog of Technical Courses. Documents available on the official website’s education institutions will also be consulted to identify the institutions that offer the Technical Course in Translation and Interpretation of Libras, obtaining information on the curriculum matrix, the political-pedagogical project, and the recommended workload. The National Information System for Professional and Technological Education (SISTEC) and the Nilo Peçanha platform will still be consulted to find the technical courses in Translation and Interpretation offered in the Brazilian states and analyze their characterization and organization. In addition, other platforms such as Normas Conselhos (Regulations and Advice) and CODISE will be consulted to obtain normative and related information on state councils, including senior councils. The RAMEC system will be used as a repository of MEC documents and information. It is expected that the results achieved meet the proposed objectives and contribute to the literature and to the training courses for translators/interpreters, specifying quality teaching methods, especially in the discipline of Libras and other disciplines related to the area of Translation and Interpretation of Libras/Portuguese. of information.
