The central focus of this research is on the perception of the meaning of work for students of subsequent courses in Professional and Technological Education (EPT). Covering the investigation of the underlying reasons that drive students to opt for this way of offering technical courses and how they interpret the meaning and relevance of work related to their area of study. The study seeks to deepen the understanding of the reasons that guide students in their educational choices and how these perceptions are interconnected with their visions about their future careers. The research's primary purpose is to contribute to improving the quality of professional and technological education, as well as preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the productive world. Having as a general objective: to investigate the perception of the meaning of work for students of subsequent courses at IFSudesteMG and as specific objectives: to understand the reasons that lead students to choose subsequent courses at EPT . Analyze how students perceive the relevance and meaning of the work related to their course, map the main motivational characteristics with their meaning of work of the students of the subsequent courses investigated. The research proposed in this project will go through six well-defined methodological phases, aiming at a comprehensive analysis of students' expectations in subsequent technical Administration and IT courses at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Southeast of Minas Gerais (IFSUDESTEMG) - Campus São João del -Rey. This is a qualitative research that will include interviews, questionnaires and data analysis. The research sample will be students from subsequent technical Administration and IT courses at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Southeast of Minas Gerais (IFSUDESTEMG).
