MINERAL EFFLUENT TREATMENT PROPOSAL FROM A FERTILIZER COMPANY LOCATED IN ALTO PARANAÍBA USING DISSOLVED AIR FLOTATION
Water reuse; FAD; phosphate ore flotation; effluent treatment; factorial design.
Water is a strategic resource for mining, especially for mineral processing. Thus, the best use of this resource, including reuse, is essential given its scarcity and increasingly strict environmental restrictions. However, the reuse of water, especially in flotation, can reduce the efficiency of the process, due to the presence of dissolved ions. For the flotation of phosphate ore, magnesium, fluoride, phosphate and calcium ions frequently occur in the reuse water and can hinder flotation. In this sense, this work aims to obtain better quality water through coagulation, flocculation and dissolved air flotation (FAD) to reuse it in apatite flotation. To develop this work, reuse water, new water and ore from a fertilizer company located in Alto Paranaíba were collected. A factorial planning for the treatment of reuse water was carried out, with this, the best quality treated water will be used in the apatite flotation. Apatite flotation tests will also be carried out using untreated reuse water and new water so that it is possible to buy the flotation efficiency with the different waters. With this work, it is expected that the treatment of reuse water via coagulation, flocculation and FAD will be a solution for the treatment of this effluent, both for reuse in apatite flotation and for return to water sources in the Alto Paranaíba region.
