Haulage productivity increase using telemetry in a phosphate mine.
Mine operation, telemetry, mine infrastructure, haulage roads.
The competitiveness that companies face in order to keep themselves in the global market becomes more intense every day, so it is of great importance that processes are executed with high performance and with minimal losses. In mining, the open mining activity is one of the most important and most expensive steps in the process. Mining companies are constantly looking for means to minimize costs and increase productivity. The mining operation consists of loading and hauling ore to the subsequent processing steps. Generally, the material is transported by trucks, whose productivity is directly influenced by the average speed of this equipment along the mine's roads. This work seeks, through telemetry, to define and create tools and dashboards for managing average speed. It is expected to obtain a velocity heat map which will allow the mapping of defects in the lanes and quick allocation of resources to maintain these points. Also, there will be created dashboards for speed management by trucks, operators and crews. With a focused action of road maintenance resources and a consolidated management of the average speed, it is believed that there will be an increase in the speed and productivity of the transport fleet.
