TITLE:
TECHNOLOGICAL CONTROL IN EARTHMOVING WORKS: CASE STUDY APPLIED TO THE MINING DAM

KEY WORDS:

mining; dam; technological control; quality; legislation; BIM

PAGES: 55
BIG AREA: Engenharias
AREA: Engenharia de Minas
SUMMARY:

Technological controls, often used in the management of the quality of civil construction works with a focus on compliance with regulatory procedures, are used to ensure the traceability of information throughout the construction period to determine the causes and responsibilities for failures and subsequently, highlight the negotiations with compliance with the requirements established in the project. Commonly, earthworks were carried out to follow normative procedures in relation to soil tests, but were limited to these records, with no return of project information in the preparation of as built and, with the collection of information kept temporarily. Adjustments regarding technological control and traceability of earthmoving information were implemented, mainly for works destined for the mining area to contain tailings, due to compliance with legislation and requirements of the sector's regulatory body, such as the National Mining Agency (ANM) that establishes the National Dam Safety Policy, as well as the National Mining Dams Registry and the Integrated Safety Management System for Mining Dams, which establishes the frequency of execution or updating, qualification of technicians in charge, minimum content and level of detail of the Dam Safety Plan (PSB). Thus, the technical documentation of the enterprise must be made available with the technical characteristics of the project and construction; projects (basic and or executive) and design as built in the case of constructed dams. The main objective of the research is to present the technological controls developed for a case study of a dam adaptation work to guarantee the quality of the structure and reliability of the data before the normative procedures and technical specifications. Additionally, we highlight the use of technology, used in the areas of architecture, engineering and industrial construction in recent years in favour of the traceability of information through Building Information Modelling (BIM), which allows the visualization of data in three dimensions. As a result of this research, it is expected that it will be easier to find the results obtained when requested or after a long period of execution, to obtain characterization data of the borrow area, aggregated to the results of the layer launching tests and to implement resistances with agility and credibility, as there is validation of the results of all those involved in the activity to be contemplated, executing companies, inspection companies and those responsible for the Technical Monitoring of Work.
