To keep up with the growth of the sector, the transformation and the market challenges that are emerging, mining has been increasingly adopting automation as a safety and productivity factor in its operations, where autonomous transport has proven to be a good alternative. Although autonomous trucks are already in operation in some mines in Brazil, the acquisition of an autonomous fleet still requires a large investment, for which it is necessary to monitor indicators to prove the gains. This work analyzes through operational parameters the potential gains with the application of autonomous transport, these gains may involve a reduction in the cost per ton moved, a reduction in the risk exposure of operators and gains in productivity. Through this analysis, the work focuses on comparing the autonomous and manned fleet scenarios in order to enable an accurate decision-making regarding the investment in an autonomous fleet, highlighting the main differences, risks and opportunities in the traditional and autonomous
