This reseach intends to study the practice of Editora Sabiá, publisherhouse founded in 1967 by the writers Rubem Braga and Fernando Sabino. During itsshort existence it published a series of national and foreign authors, gathering aseries of characteristics that made it possible to project into the cultural scenary ofBrazil. Bringing together a set of theories about symbolic capitals, the editorialmarket, editorial History and Brazilian literature, the cultural production as a meetingfactor for intellectuals, the study envolves different areas (literature, editing,journalism, Brazilian culture) aiming a clearer and more objective comprehensionthan meant by two prestigious writers work in the publishing industry, demonstratingthe interference of the support and the editing in the literary reception by thereadership.
