That are several works deal with the representation of woman in Brazilian popular music, almost always focused on the study of the social and ideological role of the female figure in songs of male authorship. For this reason, we try to understand how socio-discursive imaginaries are articulated in the Brazilian popular songs authored by women. Initially considering Moscovici's studies on social representations and their unfolding in Charaudeau's semilinguistic theory, we will show how the discourse of female composers is organized and what imaginaries are shared or rejected by them. In search of interpretive possibilities, an analysis of the production conditions of this discursive ensemble considered the contributions of feminist theory in music, in women's history, as well as in Stuart Hall's studies on identity, gender and cultural difference. Other references in the criticism of Brazilian music, especially on the condition of women in the musical context, complete the essential list for the understanding of music as a sociocultural phenomenon, such as the case of Tinhorão, Santa Cruz, Murguel, Pillar, among others.
