Synthesis, characterization and physical properties of the coordination compounds containing lanthanides ions and oxamate ligands.
Oxamate ligand, coordination compounds, lanthanide
This work describes the synthesis and characterization of the 4-methylphenylene(oxamate) ligand, here called 4-mpo and tetrabutylammonium N-4-methylphenylene(oxamate) called Bu4N+(4-mpo). These ligands were used in the synthesis of six coordination compounds containing the following lanthanide ions: Nd3+, Eu3+, Gd3+, Tb3+, Dy3+, and Ho3+. These coordination compounds were characterized by infrared vibrational spectrometry and melting point temperature. The structure of the Dy3+ compound was determined by monocrystal X-ray diffraction.
