We will start from the reflection about how fashion influences and is influenced by culture and human behavior and also about fashion being considered a form of communication, be it by the individual or by an author writing a romance. Through the exploratory research of the work, we intend to investigate the construction of the character Malvina and the secondary characters, besides the characterization of the spaces, also constructed highlighting the fashion elements. Furthermore, we will observe in this research the economic, social and cultural matters related to fashion that encompass the contextualization of the end of the 18th century in Brazil, in accordance with the facts presented in the romance.
