LITERATURE AND DICTATORSHIP: THE INTERPRETATION OF FAMILIES OF POLITICAL PERSECUTED IN THE STORIES OF BERNARDO KUCINSKI
Literature. Bernardo Kucinski. Dictatorship. Representation.
The military regime established in Brazil in 1964 left several scars on society and remains alive in the imagination of many people. Strong evidence of this is the constant presence of the subject in literary works in recent decades. This research seeks to analyze how the families of political prisoners and people who were subject to forced disappearances during the dictatorship are represented in three short stories from the book “Você vai volta pra mim”, by Bernardo Kucinski, called “Joana”, “Tio André” and “O velório”. To carry out this analysis, the elements that make up these narratives will be studied, combined with theories about how literary writing is used as a coping mechanism for trauma. The work is justified by the need to deepen knowledge about the existing relationship between fiction and reality, and also to understand the way in which the stories of the dictatorship are narrated in Brazilian literature.
