SUMMARY:

From the literary analysis of the literary work “Los Hijos de Hilário”, by the Andean writer Macedonio Villafán Broncano, we discuss the relationship between identity and Andean culture and reflect on the publishing process that involved the construction of the literary work. It is believed that the 08 (eight) stories that make up the book stem from linguistic confrontations between the Spanish and Quechua languages that interfere in the birth of the book, and in the way it is editorially presented, since its oral style organizes “another” kind of book, different from the westernized one, outside the Hispanic literature canon. It is intended, through the poetic narrative of the author, to look for the characteristics and traces that contemplate the Andean cosmovision, the orality, the Quechua language, and other cultural aspects of the Callejón de Huaylas region, located in the north of Peru, in the Department of Áncash. The theories by classic Americanists: Antônio Cornejo Polar, Ángel Rama and Néstor Canclini supplied the theoretical contributions which were used to work on concepts of heterogeneity, transculturation, and miscegenation. Recent studies by researchers of the new Peruvian generation such as Gonzalo Espino Reluce, Mauro Macedo Mamani, Alejandro Mautino Guillén, Vidal Guerrero Tâmara, Carlos Quinones, among others who claim a new status for the literature produced in the Andes were also used.
