SUMMARY:

From the growing demand for representativeness and diversity in various spheres of social and media life, our research aims to investigate its effects from its fruits in the construction of the identity of black girls. More specifically, through the analysis of posts on the Instagram profiles of Aline Aguiar and Maria Júlia Coutinho, both journalists and black women, we analyze the discourse originated from the discursive position generated between them and the girls in a moment of growing ascension and protagonism of their careers. In a racist and unequal country like Brazil. the growth of black women working in prominent and prestigious professions is proof that another reality is possible, with representation being a real tool for, as stated by Souza (2021), the generation of processes of positive identification of the black person with the your blackness. Developing the research, we realized, for example, that the presence of journalists made these girls start to like their own hair, strengthening their self-esteem. To support the arguments presented throughout the research, we resorted to concepts, terms and studies common to Discourse Analysis; such as discursive memory (PÊCHEUX, 2014), ideology and everything that surrounds it (ALTHUSSER, 1985), the formulation and circulation of meanings (ORLANDI, 2008) and others. In addition, we resorted to authors linked to the formation of the unconscious (LACAN, 1999). Under the racial perspective, in order to understand how racism occurs and affects the whole society in a structural way (ALMEIDA, 2008), generating deep inequalities (GONZALEZ, HASENBALG, 1982). The presentation of statistical data throughout the research enumerates and contemporizes the academic work.
