This paper analyzes intersections between scenography and staging in the production of visualities on stage in the staging of “Álbum de Família”, by Nelson Rodrigues, performed by Grupo Galpão, under the direction of Eid Ribeiro, in the 1990s. The production of visualities in this staging is analyzed from a comparative interartistic perspective, anchored in the critical-analytical method, through the analysis of intermedia interactions between audiovisual and photographic records. The analysis is constructed through an investigation of the conception of scenic space, the dramaturgical adaptation carried out by the director, its implications for staging, and Rômulo Bruzzi's scenography. This research is theoretically grounded in Hans-Thies Lehmann’s concept of Postdramatic Theatre and Josette Féral’s Theory of Performativity, as well as contributions from other authors. The investigative journey articulates a process of reconstructing the history of the performance based on intermedial displacements of scenic spatialities. These procedures are carried out through an analysis of the resources employed by the playwright in spatial conformities that manifest in the creation of the plot. They extend to the scenic spatial conceptions arising from the director’s dramaturgical adaptation, its developments for staging, and the spatial-visual arrangements of scenography. We assume that tensions between discontinuities of time and space affect interlacing and connections that are operated between the scenic text and scenographic writing in this staging. This leads to an analysis of the mise-en-scène of the performance and its implications for the construction of meaning and visualities on stage.
