SUMMARY:

Although the term active methodologies seems recent, these teaching approaches, which actively involve students in the learning process, encouraging participation, autonomy and construction of knowledge, have already been studied for many years. In contrast to more passive traditional methods, such as the simple transmission of knowledge by the teacher, active methodologies encourage students to be protagonists of their own learning. In parallel, with new technologies and the growing presence of the internet in people's lives, it is essential to be able to understand and produce content in different formats and platforms. To achieve this, it is necessary to develop multiliteracy skills - reading and writing skills in different media, such as images, videos, audios and digital texts -, which allow people to access information in a more critical and selective way, as well as evaluate the quality and the veracity of the sources, which favors more active participation in today's society. Especially after the pandemic period caused by Covid-19, classes that involve interaction with screens have become much more interesting than a traditional class, in which students copy the content and memorize formulas. As a challenge, teachers need to think about using methodologies that involve and make learning meaningful for students. Active methodologies and multiliteracies are in line with the official guiding document used by all Brazilian schools, the National Common Curricular Base – BNCC. In this context, this research, qualitative in nature and carried out through narratives, analyzed the perception of two teachers from different disciplines in the final years of elementary school in the municipal education network in the city of Itatiaiuçu-MG about the use of active methodologies as a practice teaching for multiliteracies. The importance of this study lies in the fact that the pedagogical practices of many teachers in Brazil are still not in line with the BNCC guidelines, which distances the promotion of literacy and multiliteracies among students; Therefore, it is necessary to rethink ways of train teachers with a view to making changes to the educational system and the methodologies used by them in the classroom. The results indicated that the teacher who obtains knowledge about active methodologies and uses them in the classroom finds that there is a greater possibility of developing students' literacy and multiliteracies, and understanding these terms is essential through continued training, and that It is also necessary to understand the BNCC, because, without analyzing the skills that must be developed at each school stage, it may not be possible to achieve the proposed objectives.
