SUMMARY:

This research project in Language Studies aims to investigate the impacts of international organisms simulations on the development of critical literacy, student leadership, motivation, autonomy, and interaction in the teaching-learning processes in the Integrated High School at CEFET – MG/BH. The research arises from the need to contribute to the formation of young people capable of participating critically in society and aims to analyze how international organisms simulations, specifically through the Model of Simulated Committees (MOCS), impact the development of critical literacy and other educational aspects in students. Considering the stagnation in educational results since 2018, especially in terms of reading, this research becomes urgent. The objectives include identifying the types of literacies developed in simulations, analyzing how they contribute to the development of students' critical thinking, and comparing the performance of participants with non-participants. The literature review addresses the lag in Brazilian education and the manifestation of the term literacy, highlighting the need to understand how different degrees of literacy relate to people's context and instruction. The research aims to provide evidence that international organisms simulations can mitigate the challenges faced by Brazilian education, stimulating critical literacy and other important aspects for students' development.
